Consultation has concluded

The reporting back on engagement and the report to Council are now posted online. At the October 29, 2020 Committee of the Whole meeting, Council did not approve a motion that Zoning Amendment File No. Z61-20 (Backyard Hens) come forward to a future Council meeting for decision.

County Council has directed staff to prepare a report exploring the requirements for permitting backyard hens on residential properties. Council also tasked staff with outlining the necessary steps to facilitate bringing a program into place that supports existing flocks for compliance as well as new operations.

As part of the review of potential policies regarding backyard hens, the County of Prince Edward Planning Division is requesting public comment. You are invited to review the documents, complete the survey, and share your comments below.
