Consultation has concluded

Update

County Council approved the new planning fee structure at its meeting on June 22, 2021.

Background

At the March 11 Committee of the Whole meeting, staff from the Planning and Building departments presented a joint report about setting a new fee structure for both planning and building application fee structure. Council directed Planning staff to consult with the public, agencies, and business that may have an interest in offering feedback as staff develops the new planning application fee

Council directed Planning staff to consult with the public, agencies, and business that may have an interest in offering feedback as staff develops the new planning application fee structure.

The goal of this public consultation was to obtain comments and opinion to guide the development of a new planning application fee structure.

To develop the new planning fee structure, staff compared the current fee structure against that of a number of comparator and local municipalities. Staff also did an internal review of the time and costs associated with reviewing different planning applications.
