Consultation has concluded
Here's a great opportunity for residents of Prince Edward County to help guide the priorities and protocols of our police services!
Under the Police Services Act, the Ministry of the Solicitor General provides a framework for core policing requirements of all municipal police services in Ontario. A key function of the PEC Police Services Board is to work with the Staff Sergeant and community members to prepare a three-year strategic plan.
There are several ways to provide your input:
Fill out the survey below
Attend one of two confidential and anonymous resident focus groups (Date windows for the sessions are Sept 8-11). Please text 416.938.0673 and Mike Farrell (consultant, FARRELL INSIGHT) will get back to you shortly. Space is limited and selection is determined by making sure the groups are representative and diverse. There will also be key stakeholder and partner sessions conducted as well.
Pick up a hard-copy survey at the Shire Hall Customer Service desk at 332 Picton Main St, Picton
You may also be contacted to participate in a telephone survey, these will take place between August 26 and September 7, 2020.
However you wish to provide feedback, the Police Services Board would like your input into policing in Prince Edward County via the OPP (Prince Edward Detachment). Survey/Telephone questions and focus groups give you an opportunity to:
Provide feedback on current police services in PEC
Prioritize your concern about crime and policing issues in PEC
Suggest improvements to police services
Thanks in advance for your honest, confidential input into this important service in our community.
